Author's Note
As a writer, I’ve always believed that the right music can elevate a scene from great to unforgettable. That’s why I am incredibly excited to announce a new project: I am currently producing a full, original soundtrack for An Echo of Scarlet Song, with each track meticulously crafted to match the events and emotions of a specific chapter.
Today, I want to share the lyrics for Track 2: “Echo of Scarlet.” This track captures the immediate aftermath of the Prologue, diving into the mind of Kael Vorat as he realizes he is no longer alone in his own head. It’s a dark, heavy piece exploring the parasitic, mocking presence of Ra’maen—a duet between a gritty, grounded warrior and an ethereal, inescapable goddess.
Read the lyrics below, and prepare to soon hear the World of Anarand like never before.
Lyrics
[Kael]
The night caresses with a black fire’s breath,
Yet my soul freezes from the voice that drifts ahead.
I hear the notes arise, the magic takes its hold,
A poisoned whisper, a fate in blood foretold.
[Ra’maen:] Come to me, my eyes behold…
I see the path through darkness, I feel the pain,
I know this madness calling out my name.
[Kael]
The scarlet light—it bleeds through forest shade,
An evil wound, enchanting web that will not fade.
I run to you, lost in a daze, though I should flee,
Your cruel mask of gleaming white is all that I can see.
[Both]
A garden of ash in a frame of gold,
A lie so bright, and a truth so cold.
We are the fracture, the beautiful sin,
Where nightmares end and the dreams begin.
[Kael]
The crypt is silent, the black stone rests cold,
Yet secrets rot when they are decades old.
I hold enchanted steel, I know the secret art,
To help me drive the dagger through your heart.
[Ra’maen:] Strike me down, tear me apart…
But death is just a wicked game you play,
To rise and haunt me yet again another day.
[Kael]
Why won’t you stay dead?
Get out of my head!
The blood on my hands never dries!
I see the truth behind your eyes!
[Ra’maen:] (Spoken) Dan liadáros tir sána k’álano…
[Both]
A garden of ash in a frame of gold,
A lie so bright, and a truth so cold.
We are the fracture, the beautiful sin,
Where nightmares end and the dreams begin.
[Ra’maen:] The dreams begin!
[Kael:] (Spoken) Ra’maen… why now?
